DELTA-STAR FTW

k basically, Wayne said this

"Don't bother with delta star, it's useless."

The idea is that you can transform Delta to star and vice-versa in a circuit to analyse it. Wayne on the other hand like to inject 1V/1A into everything and whack equations. We weren't really thinking too much abt it till I applied this to capacitors and got a super nice solution for some screwed up question. So we formed a Delta-Star party and whacked everything with Delta-Star and......

We reduced this cube into a tetrahedral, and realised that there's a star configuration in the tetrahedral and ended up with two parallel triangles, which when analysed, is just 3 parallel pairs of resistors connected in series in a ring.

Of course, Mr Ricardo has another method which is much easier, but this method is just epic.

Physics O today was the usual epic stuff that is dam interesting and yet makes ppl cry, but Mr Ricardo told epic stories.

1) Einstein's Driver

Einstein had a driver who would drive him to his seminars, and each time during the seminar the driver would sit and wait for Einstein to finish his talk and then drive him back. As Einstein was invited to many many seminars to give talks, all of which are almost about the same things, the driver eventually memorised the entire talk Einstein gave, after sitting through so many sessions. One day, Einstein was sick, but at the same time was again invited to a seminar. So, the told his driver "I'm sick today, and I really can't give the talk...... So how about you take my place, while I just sit down and take a rest. I mean you probably memorised all of the contents by now and the people there probably don't even recognise my face. You can just pretend to be me, and I'll pretend to be you. So, the driver went and gave the talk in Einstein's place. He memorised the contents so well that no one suspected a thing. At the end of the talk, as usual there was an Q&A session. However, the driver had sat through so many seminars that he even remembered all the common questions asked, and the questions were after all almost the same at each seminar. All was going well until a very difficult question was posed, and the driver really had no idea how to answer. So, he laughed instead, "This is a very easy question, so easy that even my driver could answer it." and he pointed towards Einstein, sitting in the front row.

Moral of the story: Hang around smart people, and you'll be smart too.

2) Epic student

There was an Indonesian international physics olympaid student many years back, even before my batch. The olympaid students had a series of tests from time to time. On the first test, that student scored full marks, on the second test he scored full marks, on the third test he again scored full marks, and on the fourth test, he scored full marks again. However, on the fifth test, he got zero. The trainer asked what happened to him and he said that he just can't think anymore. He was taken to the hospital and was diagnosed with a mental illness and did not participate in the olympaid after that. But when the trainer asked him what excatly happened for the tests, he said, plainly in front of the professor, that every night, Einstein came and tutored him physics and that's how he did so well. It was a hallucination, but the scary thing is that the student managed to write down formulas by Einstein that even the professor had not seen before.

gotta finish wiring the star map tmr......, each LED is connected in parrallel to all the other LEDs+resistors in the constellation. Each constellation is connected to a switch and then in parrallel with all the other constellations. So in the end the 40-50 LEDs with each 3V is powered by 2 batteries -.-.

Watched GE till 3+, thanks to Potong Pasir recount. Quite amazing, Sitoh camped there for 10 years and finally managed to win, perseverance..... But then Chiam See Tong is out too...

I don't know, PAP didn't seem to do very well this time, lots of 50s in the percentages, and George Yeo lost Aljunied too. I don't really like the idea of a divided parliment, so I hope they could work on it. But hey, almost all the parties' overall percentages dropped.

I'm not sure, but it there does seem to be votes for the opposition purely for the sake of opposition. Like the Worker's Parties' Team in Nee Soon, they got 41% of the votes, but I have never even heard about them before Nomination Day.

Oh and the whole part of inflation -.-, lots of our stuff are imported you know -.-

For Pair A, put the two into the hot water, actone boils first.
For pair B, look at the water-unknown solution, Benzaldehyde is denser than water, so it "sinks", proponal is lighter, so it stays on top of the water.

There, you've identified all the unknowns, without a single chemical test.

its quite a change i would say...... feeling rather empty now, one whole year is not a short time after all. somehow i seem to be taking it much better than i thought... perhaps its due to the fact that i have gotten so used to such thoughts of late, or maybe its because i finally had reality to grasp onto, but nvm it doesn't really matter. i really have to thank you anyways.... 9 yrs.... it seems rather astonishing, but i hope it would not all end here.

anyways.... life goes on. woke up at 5.30 today, cant sleep, decided to take a walk. i went down and found that the gate's still locked, i went back up and realised the cluster gate's locked too zzzzzzzz, camped outside the TV room for 20mins till 6 -.-. and i found that mornings are awesome. nowadays i'll probably sleep earlier (i feel like sleeping at 10.30 now), so i shall see if i can still stay awake if i wake up at 6. then i'll juz move my mugging sessions from 10.30 - 11.30 to 6.40-7.40. should work better, they say ur memory's better in the morning.

oh anyway, talking about sleep, it was one of the topics for the brain awareness talk. its quite interesting, like:

You probably seen this concave mirror thing in optics b4, and they tell you to go remember all the object and image positions and if the image is enlarged or watever right. So, if you are lazy like me, here's Mr Ricardo's Room Theorem.
First, name all the sectors,
Section from P to F: Room 1
Section from F to C: Room 2
Section from C to Inf: Room 3
Section behind mirror: Room 4

So if you look at it, if the object is at room 1, the image is at room 4, if the object is at room 2, the image is at room 3 and so on. Thus, the theorem is simply
-->Object + Image = 5
-->If we look at the first case and second case, 4 > 1 & 3>2, thus image is bigger than object
And it works for convex too.

Besides the serious stuff, we learnt three important things ytd in physics O.

1) How to create a black hole.
"Suppose we have a rice cooker, and we heat the rice cooker up by T kelvins. Then the new volume of the rice cooker will be V₂ = V₁(1+γΔT). Where γ is the volumetric thermal expansion coefficient. So applying the same equation, when the rice cooker cools down, we'll get V₃ = V₂(1-γΔT) = V₁(1-γ²ΔT²), which is smaller than V₁. 2)Second law of thermodynamics.

lets start wif ytd:

I was still in school in the morning, and there's a 1 hr break between lessons and the CNY concert, so I went to the music room to chill (my friends plays the instruments, i have no affinity with music.) Anyway, timothy got bored on the piano and started playing with the guzheng (playing with as in guitar strum and stuff). I think he hit the resonance of the chair i was sitting on, coz it suddenly started to vibrate like mad, lololol.

Theres 11 ppl at home for dinner ytd xD,(aunts and cousins came from china) , dam noisy. I managed to send a sms at exactly 12am, been trying and phailing for years. And the CCTV CNY concert was kinda boring, so i was playing majong hehe.

Went to the zoo juz now, at least it didn't rain like last time -.-, horrible experience. Ah well.

....... I decided to settle it.... to be honest it's not the first time i tried, but hopefully it'll be the last time.

Three interesting things happened today:

1)I found a chem textbook(Chemistry, Chang) in the "to be recycled" paper tub. Wiped it clean and it looks new, so now i have two lolol

2)I dug my fingers into the side of a wooden log by accident and got two splinters stuck in my nails....... dam pain...... -.-

3)We discovered a bug in our universe! Apparently the gravitational force by a hollow sphere has sth like (R^2-r^2) as a denominator. So if R=r (at the sphere's surface) then we'll have a divison by zero. So... maybe if we create a perfect hollow sphere, there would be a integer divided by zero error followed by a massive BSoD that crashes the entire matrix and causes us to wake up in another world, lololol.

Today's like the last day of the year already, I hardly even noticed....... came bak from Maldives ytd (ytd) morning at 7+, then i went out at noon to eat seoul garden with my friends, hehe, i'm hardcore.

anyway, Maldives was nice....., we were at a small little island called Paradise Island(one of 1190 in maldives lol).
nice place eh? you'll like nvr see water like that in singapore. and it's super clear too.
The water has different colours depending on the distance to the shore, its almost like theres a bluish green dye in it.
Stuff in the water lolol, the shark doesn't bite so its ok haha. And i've nvr seen a hermit crab b4 this.

Anyway, theres other random stuff too.

Snorkling
We had an underwater cam hehe, but then i think the corals at tioman actually looked better, they were more colourful.
its like dam hard to take pictures in the water since the waves keep rocking you.

Resort
Theres actually nth too special about the resort itself, but somethings look better in photos xD. Parents outside the house.

Christmas Dinner
The christmas dinner was on christmas eve, and there was like food from many different countries(theres like quite a lot of westerners there). Erm... theres, Sri Lankian, Maldivian, Thai, Indian, Chinese, French, and Italian. Its dam sad that I ate too much for lunch tat day.... aww

Male
Male is the capital of Maldives, and its pronounced ma-lay, not mael. Small little city, about the size of Yishun. Its not exactly highly developed, but i dun think the oceans would be the same colour if it is.I thought the airport looked like a bus interchange haha, its also the first time i boarded a plane with the staircase thing which my mom is standing in front of.Oh and during dinner in Male, the dish came with some green chillis.... And the waiter warned us that its super hot.So obviously i couldn't resist trying..., the part in between the cut up chilli went into my mouth lolz. Anyway, at first it was just bitter.... and i was like wth? then suddenly.... FJHKBFSDYHLHBLUYQ haha.

they had the christmas lights up on orchard rd alr...... isn't it a bit early? anyway, they're almost all blue this year, gives you this serene, sleepy feeling, until you find urself walking into a ring of people dancing on the streets that is. ah well, pretty lights............it still does hurt u noe....
